Brad Pitt Attacked By Prankster at Movie Premiere

ImageA Ukrainian prankster named Vitali Sediuk has found himself again in the news, this time for thumping Brad Pitt during a red carpet event in the face whilst celebrating the premiere of Maleficent, new movie of Angelina Jolie from Disney.

At the same time as Jolie was signing autographs and giving interviews, Sediuk jumped over the barrier to hold the crowd back. He punched Pitt in the face after running up to him, damaging his sunglasses before the “prankster” was arrested on site after being pulled to the ground.

A restraining order has been issued as of now and Brad Pitt isn’t seriously injured, as per the reports even though evidently shaken at the premiere due to the presence of his children. The restraining order keeps the man at a distance of 500 feet away from Pitt while pending court. Was it a prank or it was a serious attack, remains to be distinguished?

Formerly, against a variety of celebrities this same guy has been responsible for antics, including grabbing crotches of Bradley Cooper and Leonardo Di Caprio, colliding an Oscar party in a swan dress just as similar as Bjork’s, with an attempt to kiss Will Smith, and approached Adele at the Grammys. Such types of “prank” have gained a great deal of attention to the man, even though they aren’t typically considered as pranks and more of a challenge at gaining awareness.

As of yet neither Angelina Jolie nor Brad Pitt have passed any comments on the event, still they are typically confidential as it is.

Health And Wellness

For the last couple months the topic of the majority of my blogs has been about my passion for social justice. Today and in the weeks to come I will be blogging about my other passion; health.

I have always had an interest in health and wellness but my passion for the two was birthed when I started working for my school’s newspaper; California Baptist University’s The Banner.

At the end of last year’s school year I was asked by my professor to be the health section editor. Not knowing I would enjoy it as much as I would, I said yes. I enjoy taking on new challenges and responsibilities and also always found myself writing for the health section when I was a staff writer anyways so I thought why not take the offer. I fell in love with health shortly after because of the job and it has developed into a passion of mine over the school year.

For the next few weeks I will blog about a different recipe each week and the benefits of each of ingredient. I won’t be blogging about one this week so that you’ll have to come back next week and see what it that I made. I can assure you however that it will be healthy and delicious.

Amazing Facts On Holistic Healing

Emotions such as stress, anxiety, fear and constant worry create tension and can cause an imbalance in the chemistry of our nervous system. Our thoughts and emotions can impact on our physiology, thereby compromising our health and wellbeing.
We may not even be aware that some outdated emotions stemming from our childhood are behind a lot of our negative emotional behavior such as; self-doubt, low self-esteem, self-consciousness, etc. Research confirms that a deeper part of us stores all our memory and experiences. PSH therapy is unique in recognizing that it is not necessary to analyses and probe what is often sensitive personal information, in order for inner change to occur.
Given the opportunity to review old fears, sensitivities or bad habits, within the privacy of our inner mind, we would gladly let go of a lot of emotions, which are outdated or inappropriate. Since a part of us already knows everything we have lived through, we do not have to relive the old stories or experiences. What we can do is, give ourselves the opportunity to understand those emotions differently to how we originally perceived them. It is time that we all realized that there should no longer be a stigma attached to health problems that are initiated in our mind.
P.S.H. provides us the opportunity to initiate a communication process, ‘within the inner mind’, to permanently resolve problems we may have been struggling with for many years, thereby restoring our emotional health and wellbeing.
When is PSH Therapy appropriate?

Negative or painful feelings, such as rejection, guilt, shame or fear, may have been pushed down and repressed at some earlier time. While they remain there, they have the power to negatively influence present feelings and behaviors. As Frank Wright quotes in his ‘Emotional Healing’ book: “a wise sage once said: If you plant rice, rice will grow. If you plant fear, fear will grow”. From the day we are born, we are bombarded with negative suggestions. Not knowing how to deal with them, we may have unconsciously accepted or repressed them. Perhaps the reason ‘positive affirmations’ come unstuck is because negativity, rising from within, slowly undermines the conscious effort. Frank Wright asks us to consider this affirmation: ‘I will be confident and succeed as a public speaker’, however, if a negative suggestion was planted long ago ‘I am not as good as other people’; then the positive affirmation will be rejected.
When a person suffers from persistent feelings of anxiety, stress, depression, or negative behaviors and responses that cannot be changed through conscious effort and willpower, this often indicates underlying emotional conflict. This conflict is usually part of a subconscious process that can be changed with the help of PSH because, just as the inner-mind has the ability to create a conflict, it also has the ability to change it.
Your Subconscious abilities and PSH Therapy.

We have only one mind – the left and right brain hemispheres, with functions of conscious, subconscious and body/unconscious resources and abilities. These parts of our mind are quite different and unique in the way they process information, beliefs and life experiences.
The conscious part of our mind deals with logic, intellect, verbal language, thinking and planning. This part of the brain is well developed only in the human species.
The subconscious to a large extent is in control of our healing, automatic physical functions, our emotions, feelings, beliefs and long term memory. It processes thousands of bits of information at a time and is connected and communicates, via the brain stem, with our central nervous system and the entire body. Research suggests that the integration of our brain hemispheres, the left and right brain, enables us to effectively reduce resistance to changing outdated subconscious patterns and helps us to change long held self sabotaging beliefs in a matter of minutes, not months or years.
Some people fear their subconscious-mind and have no idea what a useful part of their mind the subconscious really is. Given the opportunity to learn more about it, they begin to truly understand and appreciate that the potential for permanent change has always been right at their fingertips. At times, it is easy to think of the subconscious as your enemy when it seems to be sabotaging your efforts. In reality, it is more like a misguided friend, attempting to do what it thinks is in your best interest. It is not trying to keep you from achieving what is best for you, as an enemy might do. It is simply responding to old impressions or patterns and its ultimate goal is to protect you in some way.
The subconscious-mind is our personal interpreter or retriever of information, much like a computer. It brings forth in an instant, the stored impressions, feelings or experiences, for our conscious logical mind to use. It also communicates with the unconscious mind to activate resources within, to help us change or even understand outdated feelings and impressions differently.

Information or memory is stored within our unconscious, or as recent research indicates, we store memory throughout our body. The unconscious-body/mind is non-judgmental, it does not care about good, bad or indifferent, it simply stores our experiences. Everything we have lived through, experienced or learned is registered within us. Just as well, otherwise we would wake up every morning having to re-learn how to brush our teeth.
PSH therapy enables us to use this information and intelligence our mind possesses, to restore health and balance to our emotional life.

How To Keep Your Liver Healthy

Liver is located behind the lower right area of your ribs. Weighing in at about three pounds, it’s the size of a football, but soft and smooth. It is part of the digestive system and is connected to the small intestine by the bile duct. Liver is our internal cleaner. It works to detox the body, helps in regulating fat and balancing our hormones, digestion and circulation. Nearly all the blood that leaves the stomach and intestines passes through the liver for processing. Anything that enters the bloodstream is filtered. But if your liver is overburdened by its more than 400 other essential activities, it can become sluggish and may even diseased or damaged. However liver can function even when up to 70 per cent of it is diseased, and it has the amazing ability to create new liver tissue.

The liver is a chemical “factory,” involved in these myriad body functions:

  • It produces clotting factors, blood, proteins, bile, cholesterol and more than a thousand enzymes.
  • It stores the energy from the food you eat to provide fuel for your muscles.
  • It regulates the levels of blood sugar and several hormones in the body.
  • It removes poisons such as drugs and alcohol from the blood.

Common liver problems

Unfortunately, the liver can become damaged without your knowledge. By the time severe complications develop, it may be too late to do anything about them. At that point, your only option may be a liver transplant.

These are early symptoms of liver disease:

  • Pain on the right abdomen, Bitter taste in the mouth
  • Fatigue, Muscle aches, head ache, Forgetfulness, depression, poor concentration
  • Allergies, Bruises that appear easily

These are more advanced complications:

  • Fluid build-up in the abdomen
  • Mental confusion
  • Spontaneous bleeding, bleeding in the stomach or oesophagus
  • Prolonged itching of the skin
  • Yellow discoloration of the skin or eyes, urine, stool, bloody or tar like stool

Cirrhosis

Cirrhosis, or scarring of the liver, is one of the most common liver problems. According to the National Institutes of Health, cirrhosis is the 12th leading cause of death by disease. Cirrhosis is a consequence of chronic liver disease, such as hepatitis or alcohol abuse. Liver disease damages normal liver cells, gradually decreasing the amount of normal liver tissue and limiting its function. Many conditions can lead to cirrhosis, but the most common is drinking alcohol to excess.

 Hepatitis

Hepatitis is a common liver problem that can lead to cirrhosis, or scarring, of the liver. Hepatitis is caused by one of five viruses: A, B, C, D and E:

 Blocked liver

Indulging in alcohol or junk food may be fun at the time, but it will make your liver work extra hard. All the alcohol, processed foods and toxic chemical residue we’re exposed to get caught in the liver. When the liver becomes congested it will not filter blood optimally. It can become blocked, fatty or bloated. It will then contribute to high cholesterol and lowered synthesis of nutrients and new cells, compromising your health. This is why many alcoholics have liver failure: the organ is never given time to regenerate.

Liver helpers

Keep your weight under control. If you drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Avoid high doses of medications or prolonged use of medications that can cause liver problems, unless you’re under direct supervision by your doctor. To protect yourself from hepatitis B and C, limit the number of sexual partners you have, and always use latex condoms. Don’t share razors or toothbrushes.

While the key to a healthy liver is maintaining harmony and balance, there are some foods and supplements that will help the liver do its work better.

“Ginger, most dark green leafy vegetables, beetroot and mint will all help your liver to function well.

 Liver cleansers

Carrots: High in beta-carotene, they help regulate blood-sugar levels, while reducing inflammation in the body and are a good energy food.

Milk thistle: Contains an antioxidant that acts as a toxin blocker. Capsules can be taken daily for an extended period to repair the liver.

Black walnuts: Help to eliminate toxins. Finney says it can be taken in powder or capsule form, for 30 days, after which you should give it a rest.

Lemons: Cleanse not only the liver, but also the gallbladder, kidneys, digestive tract and lungs.

Garlic: Helps strengthen and cleanse the blood, while giving the liver and kidneys a spring clean.

Dandelion tea: Dandelion has been used for centuries. It is a blood purifier and antioxidant and is recommended for those with liver complaints.

Beetroot juice: Contains a chemical called betaine that stimulates the liver cells and protects the liver and bile ducts.

Get plenty of sleep: Also have infrared saunas, indulge in lymphatic massages and drink lots of filtered water.

Here are ways to boost your liver function:

 1. Drink between eight to ten glasses of pure, filtered water every day.  This is the only way your liver can flush toxins out of your body. Better add half lemon in one glass of water in morning.

 2.  Since the liver requires high amounts of vitamins and minerals to perform its many functions, your diet should be high in fruits and vegetables and nutrient-rich foods.

 3. Your diet should be free of processed foods, artificial food additives, colours, and preservatives to take the load off your liver.  Additionally, choose to eat a diet low in refined sugar and synthetic sweeteners. Avoid margarine, shortening, commercial oils, animal fat and fried foods

 4.  Eat plenty of liver-rebuilding foods, including: garlics, onions, broccoli, carrots, beets, leafy greens, and other green vegetables.

 5.  While lying flat on your back, you can gently massage the liver/gallbladder area, which is located along the lower rib area on the right side of your body.  This helps improve circulation to the area.

Always consult your physician prior to making dietary changes or taking nutritional supplements.

Nasa asks members of public to select spacesuit of the future

Space agency asked voters to pick newest iteration of spacesuit with the winning design expected to be built by November.

nasa spacesuit

Nasa has collected more than 200,000 votes from members of the public who are on a mission to help the space agency select the spacesuit of the future.

Voting ends at midnight ET on Tuesday for the newest iteration of Nasa’s spacesuit. The competition pits three suits – “Biomimicry”, “Technology” and “Trends in Society” – against each other before the winner can be tested in Nasa’s facilities.

The winning suit is expected to be built by November will be tested in vacuum chambers, at Nasa’s training pool and a false Mars surface.

The Z-2 prototype follows 2012’s Z-1 suit, which had a design pleasantly reminiscent of the suit Buzz Lightyear wears in Toy Story.

Each prototype is tested for mobility, comfort and performance will be tested to guide the design of the next Z-series suit. The selected design for Z-2 will not be used in space because those suits for space missions require more high-performance technologies and materials than the current designs are capable of incorporating. Instead, the Z-2 designs are used as guides for testing and to eventually create a final product.

The Z-2 designs up for vote all have features that make them luminescent in the dark.

The “Biomimicry” design is supposed to be reminiscent of the ocean and “the scaly skin of fish and reptiles.

The “Technology,” design uses light-emitting patches and luminescent wire.

The “Trends in Society” also uses the luminescent wire along with “a bright color scheme to mimic the appearance of sportswear and the emerging world of wearable technologies.”

“After the positive response to the Z-1 suit’s visual design we received, we wanted to take the opportunity to provide this new suit with an equally memorable appearance,” said Nasa in a statement.

Nasa will use 3D human laser scans and 3D printing hardware to create the suit.

Lok Sabha Elections 2014

The year 2014 is going to be a critical year for India that will define the political, social and economical future of the country. Year 2014 will decide whether India will truly be a 21st century world power or it will continue to live with all the malice of the 20th century politics it has been inflicted with.

Year 2014 is as significant as the year 1947 when India got its first prime minister…India had a choice between Nehru and Sardar Patel in year 1947. History selected Nehru and India chartered into a erroneous path of socialist Delhi-centric model that started the process of a weak, corrupt and economically backward India and the process was completed during Indira-era. Had Sardar Patel been the Prime minister there was a huge possibility that India would have been a much stronger country today.Year 2014 is going to test India on a similar situation.

The 2014 Loksabha election has much more significance than just an election fight between political parties. It is going to be a fight between left vs right. It is going to be a fight between old style of politics vs a new development oriented politics. It is going to be a fight between opportunist vote bank politics vs aspirational politics the seeds of which are sown during the Gujarat and Bihar assemnly elections.

The year 2014 is not going to be a fight between UPA vs NDA. It rather would be a fight between Congress vs BJP. It will also be a fight between the personalities rather than parties something similar to the presidential style of election.

Also, year 2014 is going to be a fight between a highly vocal left-centric media and so-called ‘civil society’ who have monopolized the influence on public opinion vs an increasing number but much less powerful right-centric nationalist voices who get space mostly in internet to air their views. One of the best example of this is NDTV vis-a-vis offstumped.wordpress.com.

2014 election in all possibility is going to be fought between Rahul Gandhi vs Narendra Modi and it is going to be a magnificent as well as an ugly fight and I believe in Narendra Modi’s vistory lies the victory of India.
